Let it never be said that the Malnosso are inhospitable. Of all the places to be left out in the rain, they deposited me on my very own roof. [ Dramatic sigh. ] The least they could have done was given me a ladder to get down.

Well, now Josh knows that it's at least September. That's longer than he'd have liked to be away.

But he remembers the last time this happened. There's a lump in his throat and he swallows it away. If you'd have just come back one cycle earlier...

But Neku doesn't have control over that. He knows it, and as tempting as it is to blame Neku for his death, that wouldn't be fair.

The pause before Joshua's response hangs a bit too long. ]

Catching colds never was my idea of fun. Just me?

[ This is weird. I shouldn't have said anything at all. ]

[ Neku is still cautious, his feathers metaphorically and literally fluffed. Luceti has him on edge, and it will for a while. ]

[ He's trying to figure it out without asking. Does Neku remember being here before? Does he know Joshua's identity? Does he even remember Joshua at all? The last, at least, is looking like a yes, but he can't say that for sure. Not yet. ]

I'm sure most people do, but considering being shot isn't even on the table, I think I'd like to not catch a cold.
