Game 050 [Voice/Action]

[ While leaving out a mug of coffee, mostly-filled, might seem to be a weird thing to do in remembrance, regardless it's what Joshua does as he goes about cleaning the downstairs floor of his house, the space previously known as Kat's Kradle.

Without any real reason to keep more than the cooking area clean, he hadn't. Dust coats many of the tables and forms sometimes-impressive piles in the corners. Today, despite the rain, Joshua has the front door of House 38 wide open, and he can occasionally be seen sweeping piles of dirt outside.

It's rather cold, but Joshua doesn't seem to mind it. At least it's keeping him from working up a sweat. It's a bit late for a new year cleaning, but at least he's getting around to it at all, right?

Every so often he takes breaks to check on his journal, which he left the following question on earlier in the day: ]

How many of you learned things here that you're not looking forward to having to learn again when you go back to your own worlds? Your own death might be the obvious one, but I mean things like, say, some truth about your world, or friends, or family as well. Anything you'll need to find out again if you forget this place.

Someone here is from the most important place so it's pretty important to her, yes.

Tactically. Well... and for a lot of other reasons.

My Pops was protecting Fishman Island, and best friends with the King, but it's the only through-way point to get from one half of the Grand Line to the next so it's highly desired. And in the wrong hands slavery would flourish.

It's not great, could be worse. It's not like I could hold it, protect that and my family, and all the rest?

Like I said. It could be worse.

It's not that bad. If it fell to Blackbeard or Doflamingo I could never accept it, I'd keep fighting. But finding out back home is going to be a lot harder than just having someone from the island tell me which way things went.

It'll be worse there. Because if I don't remember from here that it ends up with Big Mam, I'll go crazy trying to make sure other people don't get it.

I don't feel helpless about it here either, since I know my actions are involved no matter what.

What do you mean? In what way?

No. The results... [His eyes fall. Is that really all that matters? The end results? Then Marineford was even more of a failure. He can't say only the results matter, not for his sake, but for his brothers, for people here, for the Fishman Islanders themselves even. So long as they know the Whitebeard Pirates still care, doesn't that mean something? Maybe then they'll stay strong until Marco or someone else can do something about it.]

I don't know. I don't care personally because I know I'll put in my best efforts no matter what, that doesn't change. If it helps other people believe in something or take faith themselves, then yes, the effort's important. I'd still rather skip ahead to something I can do more about though.

Because I know the reason I'll lose those islands, and the only thing that will help is time. I still might fail later, but I'll have a better chance then.

[Yeah, he's not really going to give the full answer for that.]

Oh. A number of factors. The world itself is changing. Whole new era and all that. It has to settle down first.

No. It's not about me personally.

Or perhaps I should say it gives us a better chance of not dying. Our foes will get stronger with time, but they'll also get more enemies, right now the reverse is the case, so it's a matter of literally waiting for the tides to turn.
