Game 060 [Voice]

[ The first sound when the journal turns on is a rather disgruntled huff as a flash of rainbow feathers catches the camera. ]

Well, I'm back. I don't think I even want to know how long it's been. There's dust everywhere.

[ The disdainful voice sounds a good deal like Joshua, and the feathers and face both look like Joshua... but there's something off about it. The voice is higher than usual and there's a bit more volume and length to the hair.

Regardless, the speaker continues on like usual. ]

Is asking for a bowl of ramen a pointless endeavor? My captors weren't exactly generous and the store seems to be completely out of any form of instant noodles. Honestly, treating a lady like that...

[ Wait, lady? Why, in fact! Joshua does appear to be a good deal more feminine than even he usually is... ]

All that aside, there seems to be a lovely new addition to my journal. Tell me, do I need an antenna to make it work? Perhaps there's a remote lying around to change the channel? I can't imagine it's supposed to be showing static.

Four I've never heard of before. Pretty sure they're foreign, either to the nation or the world. [ Japan and Earth, respectively. But. He just doesn't want to get up to go and read them off ]

[ Where proper tastes are Traditional Japanese Ramen. But there's a shuffling as he prepares for a long, arduous trek to the shop next door. ]

Only one of the ones we have right now, and it's decidedly mediocre. But if you want to make an experiment of them, I'm more than open to it.

[ Either way,Masaomi literally jumps the counter now so he can get up next to her and lead her to it. ... He doesn't recognize her, huh ]

[ The rainbow wings might seem a bit familiar, if only because they tend to stand out nowadays, but Joshua doesn't frequent the convenience store much at all, so there's no real reason for Masaomi to make the connection. ]

[ Well Joshua is here for only one thing and that is ramen. Flirting can come after comfort food has been acquired.

He makes his way to the instant ramen section and stares up at the different packages. He looks completely past the "Big Rig Ramen" and spots a familiar brand, and makes a face. It's not a good face. ]

That one. I seem to recall seeing it in stores years ago. [ Never mind that by "years ago" he means "back in the 1980s" ] It was simply terrible.

Oh, really? Never seen it in my lifetime [ Having been born in the mid 90s over here ] but then, other worlds.

Possibly. I've never seen either of these, certainly, though this one looks... almost Japanese.

[ Though not exactly. It's probably from some based-on-Japan-but-not-Japan world. ]

What do you think? A better bet than the other?

Probably more than Big Rig, but I think this looks the much promising.

[ It does seem to claim that it's a Tonkotsu flavor, but the brand... is the Holmes Brand. The dichotomy of it just looks fascinating to him ]

Ah, so you're the adventurous type? Unfortunately I've been solidly adventured out for the next week at least, so I think I'll stick with this option. Maybe we can even compare, hee hee.

Is there a kitchen here? Not that I'm expecting it, but if there is it might save me some time.

Well we've got a microwave out front here. [ But then... that's not really the best way to do things. So he shrugs a little - ] But yeah, this place used to be that pizzeria. It's been refitted, but the kitchen's still in the back.

Ooh, good. And here I thought that would be long gone. I've been out of the city for years, yet there's still a part of me that thinks of space like a commodity, I suppose.

[ /heading towards the back. ]

Do you find yourself doing the same?

Oh, you bet. Space's totally a commodity, and you can ask any Tokyo-ite that. [ He shakes his head, going ahead of this woman to get the door for her. He wonders which city she means - oh well, this'll be a fair test. But in the back... the "kitchen" here is quite large (including a big stone oven in the back they con't replace if they tried) and has a door to the left to go to the basement they dug out and a door to the right to the outside and their passage towards the roof. But there's also a lot of backroom stock in here, which is what they've converted it for ]

Nothing sits unused as some scared thing unless people fight very hard for it. Still, it's hard to think we're crowded in a town this big for a population this small.

Indeed. There are many days that I find myself in awe of the fact that I have an entire building to myself. I suppose it wasn't always that way, but it's been years now and no one has tried to kick me out yet.

[ He giggles, pouring water to heat up, hardly glancing at all the stock. This is more along the lines of the space he expects to have anyway. ]

Shall I heat some water up separate for you? Or will you not be trying your ramen right now?
