Game 019 [Voice] - There's a Pun in Here...

With so many people suddenly dying, I was wondering: what's it like to die here, where death isn't permanent? If you've died back in your home world, what's the afterlife like where you're from?

And even if you haven't, does death seem less important, does it carry less weight here than it did back home?

When one dies and the Soul is reaped, the Record is viewed and judged. Those Records are kept for all time because apparently nothing in the universe is without bureacratic red tape, and the Soul is sent to either Heaven to experience eternal peace or Hell to be devoured and tortured for eternity.

Or so we're supposed to say. Put the fear of eternal damnation in a person and they tend to live a rather straight life.

I'm supposed to stick to the official statement, but~ Well, it isn't like Will is here to beat me for this.

Souls are Souls. I truly don't think they much care where they go after they're separated from their bodies, so whether there is a Heaven or Hell or not is...ambiguous at best.

A Soul can be devoured and destroyed, sold and manipulated as easily as anything else. Demons specialize in that, as do other supernatural beings.

Ooh, but I sound like I'm lecturing and I do so hate lecturing. Why the interest?

[That gets an amused giggle out of him.]

Aren't we all...

Might I inquire as to your name, sir? It seems you and I might have quite a bit in common.

Joshua, hm? A pleasure to make your acquaintance - if artifically so.

You can call me Grell. Grell Sutcliffe, formerly of London.

Similar indeed - you're the second person to say that to me from the Orient. Such an interesting place this is.

There are surely theories about that, but I'll leave them up to you to uncover.

Oh? And here I thought you were such an inquiring mind.

Ah, but such things rarely happen, hm?

Well, should you find such an answer, do share. I would be very much interested in hearing what you learn.

How unfair! After everything I shared with you, Joshua, you wouldn't share with me?

So stingy. What is becoming of today's youth?

Or people's values are simply distorting.
