Game 054 [Action/Voice]

[ It's windy, and it's cold, but Joshua has an anniversary to celebrate in his own quiet way and he's not going to let the weather stop him. His first stop is to swing by his old room, room 7 at Community Housing 5. It's still empty, but he's not surprised to find that both Hanekoma's graffiti and his own long-disabled traps have disappeared from the walls.

After that, he'll spend some time trying to spray paint one of the not-yet-painted walls of House 38. Of course, given that spray paint doesn't like cold temperatures and really doesn't like wind, that's going to produce a result that's about as neat and tidy as you'd expect. So after a little while wrestling with that, he'll head inside to make himself a cup of nostalgia coffee (not as good as Hanekoma's...) and sit down with his journal to warm up. ]

What was your first experiment here, and what did you think about it? [ He giggles. ] For me, I suppose an amusement park made for a rather gentle introduction. Does anyone else remember the Great Mysterio?

My first shift involved me believing I was from another world. I'm not sure on much when it comes to something like this but I was a King called Arthur, and, I was searching for my legendary sword Excalibur who was really just some thirty year old man with a new sharp appendage added to his body stuck in a wall. I then walked around the forest for a couple of days looking for dragons. [ She sighs. ] It was vastly unsuccessful and it taught me to expect the most annoying result, not necessarily the worst.

Most annoying, not the worst... I suppose that's true more often than not. That's a good way of putting it. That experiment was quite recent, wasn't it?

[weaponry]

Depends on your definition of recent. It was one year ago, and a month. [ Not exactly, but, somewhere in that ballpark. ]

... [ A year and a month ago. That would be... well, the moon fell a year ago. Which was the Shift before that? Particulars aren't coming to him, but he remembers for sure the one he thought she was thinking of happened this year. ]

I think we're thinking of different experiments. What do you mean by being from another world?

[weaponry]

[ To Tenten, she vaguely remembers the fairy tale one, but, she also remembers one last year upon her arrival. It was more about legends and myths and camelot than child's stories. If only she could express this and be culturally knowledgeable. ]

I just thought I was in a different society. I knew of a small village, everything was so backwards. It just had peasants and kings and I thought I was a legendary warrior, and a guy. It wasn't anything like Luceti, it was like Luceti a thousand years ago. [ There wasn't running water to her and everything was uniquely foreign in terms of time. ]

A different society, but not a different world?

[weaponry]

I still recognized it as Luceti, I just couldn't recognize many of the more modern things in here.

Were there lots of princesses and knights? [ And mermaids... ]

[weaponry]

Yeah! There was! People also rumored about dragons, and legendary artifacts and elves and stuff. [ LUCETI OF THE RINGS.... ]

Ah, now I remember which one you're talking about. Did you find it embarrassing?

[weaponry]

Not as embarrassing as some others. However, I found the apology for taking a guy out to the woods because he was my sword, or at least a limb of him was my sword, a bit awkward. [ Shakes fist at Luceti's shifts. ]

Do you still apologize for things you've done under the influence of experiments?

[weaponry]

I usually just say I was under the influence of a shift at that moment, or I wasn't myself. I see no reason to apologize for things beyond my control or not my fault.

[neverplaysfair]

Is that always the case? Sometimes, even when you're not yourself, you may do things you should have known better not to do regardless.

[weaponry]

Well then, you can bring it up with whatever possessed me during that shift. I don't think I've done anything seriously twisted while under a shift. I mostly do silly things that end up humiliating me, therefore I feel a need to tell everyone to just disregard it. [ Luckily, she hasn't tried to have sloppy makeouts with the wonderful village of Luceti. ]

[ But sloppy makeouts are fun! imean- ]

And do they listen?

[weaponry]

Most do, some don't. It doesn't really concern me. They'll usually come around when a shift makes them act a little different.

Then why bother telling them to disregard it?

[weaponry]

I don't know how they'll react until I tell them. Besides, I still want to explain that I wasn't myself when that happened. They might think otherwise.

What, that you were using the timing of an experiment to act strangely despite being unaffected? Couldn't you do that anyway and claim otherwise?

[weaponry]

Well, with every shift some are influenced and some aren't. I want people to know that I was one of those that were influenced, not the other way around.
