Game 054 [Action/Voice]

[ It's windy, and it's cold, but Joshua has an anniversary to celebrate in his own quiet way and he's not going to let the weather stop him. His first stop is to swing by his old room, room 7 at Community Housing 5. It's still empty, but he's not surprised to find that both Hanekoma's graffiti and his own long-disabled traps have disappeared from the walls.

After that, he'll spend some time trying to spray paint one of the not-yet-painted walls of House 38. Of course, given that spray paint doesn't like cold temperatures and really doesn't like wind, that's going to produce a result that's about as neat and tidy as you'd expect. So after a little while wrestling with that, he'll head inside to make himself a cup of nostalgia coffee (not as good as Hanekoma's...) and sit down with his journal to warm up. ]

What was your first experiment here, and what did you think about it? [ He giggles. ] For me, I suppose an amusement park made for a rather gentle introduction. Does anyone else remember the Great Mysterio?

I did! Can't for the life of me remember it now, but I do remember not being very impressed by it. You?

Mine came true. Though I did have to be reminded of it before I realized it.

I wonder if mine did in the end. Guess I'll never know now.

Time really flies, doesn't it? That was my first experiment, too.

[While a lot can happen in two years, his first experiment always stand out clearly in his mind.]

You didn't happen to be thrown into the plaza with the large group, did you?

The plaza? Nope. [A pause.] The mass naked group one?

[ Giggle. ]

That's the one. I take it you at least heard of it, then.

My first shift involved me believing I was from another world. I'm not sure on much when it comes to something like this but I was a King called Arthur, and, I was searching for my legendary sword Excalibur who was really just some thirty year old man with a new sharp appendage added to his body stuck in a wall. I then walked around the forest for a couple of days looking for dragons. [ She sighs. ] It was vastly unsuccessful and it taught me to expect the most annoying result, not necessarily the worst.

Most annoying, not the worst... I suppose that's true more often than not. That's a good way of putting it. That experiment was quite recent, wasn't it?

[weaponry]

Depends on your definition of recent. It was one year ago, and a month. [ Not exactly, but, somewhere in that ballpark. ]

... [ A year and a month ago. That would be... well, the moon fell a year ago. Which was the Shift before that? Particulars aren't coming to him, but he remembers for sure the one he thought she was thinking of happened this year. ]

I think we're thinking of different experiments. What do you mean by being from another world?

How long has it been since your first experiment, Joshua?

Almost three years. And yours?

I don't even know. Two years?

No idea. I don't remember it.

What do you mean, you don't remember?

I mean that I don't remember. I don't remember anything that happened the times I was here before.

[ ... Well, when he hadn't ever shown up in the space formerly known as Kat's Kradle, Joshua had his suspicions, but... ]

Maybe that was a different Neku?

My first experiment was when they made me believe I came from another world. It was a little interesting since I can still remember a lot about that world but still troublesome since it had erased all of my memories and replaced them.

[Stop messing with her memories Malnosso she has enough issues with it as is]

What was that world like?

From what I can remember... it kinda reminds me of Luceti. Minus the wings, Malnosso and the barrier. [She smiles a bit] There was this village in the middle of the forest that a lot of people lived at, Sharance I think it was called... it was a very peaceful place. Outside of the village though I remember there being a lot of monsters. There was one boy who had to always drive them away.
