Game 060 [Voice]
[ The first sound when the journal turns on is a rather disgruntled huff as a flash of rainbow feathers catches the camera. ]
Well, I'm back. I don't think I even want to know how long it's been. There's dust everywhere.
[ The disdainful voice sounds a good deal like Joshua, and the feathers and face both look like Joshua... but there's something off about it. The voice is higher than usual and there's a bit more volume and length to the hair.
Regardless, the speaker continues on like usual. ]
Is asking for a bowl of ramen a pointless endeavor? My captors weren't exactly generous and the store seems to be completely out of any form of instant noodles. Honestly, treating a lady like that...
[ Wait, lady? Why, in fact! Joshua does appear to be a good deal more feminine than even he usually is... ]
All that aside, there seems to be a lovely new addition to my journal. Tell me, do I need an antenna to make it work? Perhaps there's a remote lying around to change the channel? I can't imagine it's supposed to be showing static.

[Voice]
[ There's the sound of tapping on the journal. ]
It's not working. If you know how to change that, I'd love to hear.
[Voice]
[But now that girl!Josh looks like it's gonna be a thing, like hell Kari is going to just sit by and miss this opportunity to see this for herself.]
[The potential for gathering blackmail material is just too good to resist.]
Oh! And speaking of waiting, I hope I'm not just holding you back from going out for that bowl of ramen you've been deprived of?
[Voice]
[Voice]
I mean, I was heading into town today eventually anyway. So I can just drop some off for you no problem. [...] Since, you know. Us ladies gotta look out for each other at least some of the time.
[Totally not suspicious at all.]
[Voice]
If you want me to invite you over, dear, there are subtler ways of asking. Hee hee. [ Why yes that giggling sounds almost the same as before. ]
Care to come by and visit for a bit? I promise not to bleed on you.
[ which might sound strange out of context but most of the time he's come back from kidnappings in terrible shape so he's really glad that dust and ramen are the greatest of his worries. ]
[Voice]
[Flatly:] ...good to see the Malnosso haven't done anything to that delightful sense of humor of yours.
But yeah, sure. I'll be there in a bit. Just try not to starve before I get there.
[And she'll just go ahead and head on over... making sure her phone is charged so she can us her camera. You know. For science.]
[So sometime in the next 30 minutes or so, there's a Hoshikyo knocking at Josh's door, looking around to make sure no one sees her -- her reputation would be at stake if people saw her paying a home visit to the resident creeper!]
[Action]
When there's the sound of the knock, Joshua calls down from upstairs. ]
It's open!
[ /busy dusting off all his paintings, ugh. ]
[Action]
Special ramen delivery for Pretty-- [Urk, that's not gonna work.] --girl.
[How creative. She's just gonna look around until he comes down to meet her.]
...just how long have you been gone, exactly? This place smells like an old antique shop with all the dust around.
[Action]
[ He was going to at least finish dusting these off, but not with that promise! Joshua barely spares the time to finish off the one he's working on before making his way downstairs.
And once downstairs, the similarities and differences will probably become very apparent to Kari. Joshua
contrary to iconsis dressed in somewhat boyish clothes, but that's not disguising the new presence of breasts nor the way his hair is a few inches longer than before. And no, he doesn't seem to be giving off any indication that there's something wrong with this. ]
I haven't bothered to find out, but if you want to think back to when that speed dating event happened and draw your own conclusions, you're quite welcome to.
[ He makes his way over to the bar and starts working on dusting off a place to sit and eat. ]
[Action]
That... was definitely awhile ago. Damn.
[All the more reason she brought some ramen! She even filled one container with nice, hot water so it'd be ready by the time she got here. Once he's sitting down, she'll hold out the bag for him, which has a few more packages of ramen in there as well.]
Here. The one on top is ready to go, and you can keep the extras. Just... think of it like a peace offering or something.
[Action]
[ He giggles, but takes the bag anyway. He doesn't rush to start in on the first one, but he does sound more enthusiastic one would expect as he starts slurping, barely even getting out a thanks before swallowing the first mouthful.
Delicious noodles how he has missed you. ]
[Action]
[An understatement, really.]
[Action]
[Action]
[It wasn't exactly a field day for Kari either, but really that's besides the point now.]
But there's another reason I wanted something as a peace offering. Actually, there's something I've been meaning to ask you about... and you're probably [unfortunately] the only person in the village who can help me with it.
[Action]
So it's a bribe.
[Action]
And I would have brought you some anyway. I'm not that heartless. [HUFF.]
[Action]
[ He fishes out a couple vegetables before continuing. ]
So, what is it?
[Action]
...you remember my little spirit "friend" from before, right? Something... happened a little while ago, and I need to talk to it. But you're the only person I know who can actually do that.
[Action]
[ Don't mind him probing here... ]
[Action]
About something that happened on the last draft. It... kinda sorta possessed me again while I was out there. But I don't remember anything about what happened while it was in control, so...
[Action]
Wouldn't you think that if it wanted to talk to you, it could?
[ Not that he's saying no. ]
[Action]
[Who knows, maybe it likes him or something.]
[Action]
And what favor do I get in return?
[ So very likeable. ]
[Action]
[At the very least, maybe whatever it is will be more tolerable while he's still a girl.]
