Game 013 [Voice/Action] - "Triumphant" Return

[ The feed cuts in to the sound of coughing, and a very soft ] dammit [ before Joshua speaks into the journal, his voice somewhat hoarse and higher-pitched than usual. ]

Hanekoma, come get me. [ Mostly he just sounds exhausted. ]

[ Josh is sitting against a tree on the edge of the forest, staring at the mountains off in the distance, his journal in his lap. He looks younger... 10, maybe 12 at the oldest. He's covered in burn marks and bruises, and his clothes are completely ruffled and smattered with blood stains, not to mention a bit oversized due to him not being his usual stature. There's blood-stained bandages on his arms, and more hidden beneath his clothes. In other words, he's in bad shape.

Not to mention shivering. It's cold and snowing, and he's not dressed for the weather. ]

Sanae, don't discredit yourself. Just because I'm easily throwing myself at you doesn't mean you haven't done anything to earn it.

Aw, so I should be flattered you like molesting me.

[ Tromping on down the stairs, but he'll pause for a moment and throw Joshua a look that's almost serious. ]

...earned it. But it doesn't mean anything?

It's an act of pleasure that you've earned the right to share with me. It doesn't mean anything emotionally.

[ There's a pause, and then a shrug, and then a nod. He carries on down the stairs, seeming unbothered if a bit more thoughtful than he'd been a minute ago. ]

Makes sense.

[ beat of silence, then: ]

I'm still sayin' no.

You're missing out.

[ Snort. ]

I can live with that, too.

As long as you're aware. [ Bottom of the stairs, and oh, right, there's the hole. ]

[ He follows Joshua's gaze, flashes a wry grin, and heads behind the counter to get that soup started. There's a moment of quiet thoughtfulness, and then: ]

Hey, Josh. About that hole. You wanna make a deal?

What sort of deal?

Wouldn't mind seein' you fix it like a human would. No powers, at all, for the whole process.

What would I get out of it?

Come Valentine's Day, I'll get you a present. Something romantic.

...

How romantic?

Guess you'll hafta wait and see. Better than that kiss I gave you earlier, that's for sure.

And what if I break the deal?

Remember when you threatened to take back my Christmas present?

I won't let you take it back from me.

If you break the deal before Valentine's Day, no present. If you're not done by then and I hafta give you your present in advance, I'll still be able to take it back.

You can keep Christmas, anyway. This'll be better than that.

[ Oh, now he's curious. ]

Alright. Deal.

[ And he grins right back. If Josh does get his present, Sanae knows he'll never live it down -- but this might just be worth it. ]

Have fun hauling wood through the snow.

I intend to savor every moment of it. Hee hee.

Oh, so do I. Might even bring a camera. Or invite Phones to watch.

You kidding? He'd have a heart attack.

[ Wry grin is wry. ]
