With so many people suddenly dying, I was wondering: what's it like to die here, where death isn't permanent? If you've died back in your home world, what's the afterlife like where you're from?

And even if you haven't, does death seem less important, does it carry less weight here than it did back home?

I wasn't feeling well, had gone to talk to him, he clapped me on the back, and I was twitchy enough that I turned around and clawed him before I realized what I'd done. And he wasn't fast enough getting out of the way. My fault for not staying away until I was feeling better.

Everyone else? Well, I can say they have a soul. What happens after they die, though, I dunno. But I grieve for them.

Because I'm here, and the Malnosso have helped to blocked it off for the most part.

The day I was 'sick', it had slipped whatever they'd done to me for a short time. They've redone it now. Hopefully, this time it sticks.

That's one way of putting it.

There's a drug back home that can keep it stable, kinda like the Malnosso are doing now. But there's no cure, and the drug itself is experimental, so although I know it works for a team-mate of mine, it's no guarantee it'll work for me. I was headed to a place that distributes it when I got dragged here.

Still deciding what to do about that, although I already know that if I'm being smart, I'll retire from the hunting business. Doesn't do anyone any good if I risk being as dangerous as what I'm hunting, and there's no safety net, such as it is, back home.
