[ He is legitimately relived that Joshua has underwear on, too. DOESN'T NEED TO SEE THAT KTHX and the guy has enough blackmail on him already. ] I'm not much of a healer, but I'll give it a shot. Want me to go grab fresh bandages? Get you at least a little bit cleaned up before you pass out on me.

You might as well. I'd imagine that these are rather thoroughly ruined.

Sure. Sit tight. [ He ducks out for a moment, and someone can be heard tromping on down the stairs -- and then back up again, and Hanekoma reappears with the roll of bandages and little bottle of painkillers that've been sitting around since he moved in. ]

[ And Josh holds out his hand. ] Alright. This shouldn't take too long.

Don't need me to do it? [ He hands the stuff over and sits on the edge of the bed, eyebrows raised. ]

Nope. [ He's just a tad twitchy to let Hanekoma see what's under them. ]

I still wanna see if I can do some healing. Just lend you some energy, at least. [ He's not moving. ]

You can do that once I've changed the bandages.

What's under the bandages is the stuff I wanna heal. [ Not. Moving. Well now he has to see how bad it is, if Josh doesn't want him to. ]

You can't do that through the bandages? Imagine, all these years I was overestimating you, Sanae.

[ Skipping to the point: ] Come on, Josh, I said I wanted to see how bad it was.

... [ He's really too exhausted to argue about this. ]

[ Victory. It's for your own good, J. ] You gonna take 'em off, or should I?

[ Without a word he just silently starts unwrapping the bandages on his chest. Even before they're completely off, it's easy to tell that there's huge scars over his heart and rib cage, some of which are still bleeding a little. ]

[ Hanekoma doesn't gasp or wince or anything of the sort, but he goes a bit more still and serious. That... looks dangerous, which bothers him. ] Ouch.

[ Josh gives a low hum at that, still unwrapping the bandages. ] You have no idea. [ And by the time the bandages are off, Hanekoma can probably tell that there's the remains of several cuts over his heart: some look precise, others not. Either way it's pretty clear they were cutting him open and didn't entirely bother to stitch him back together properly, though his powers have been doing their best to compensate. Without even pausing he starts unwrapping his arms as well. ]

[ He waits until the bandages on Joshua's chest fall away, and then Hanekoma moves a little closer, leans in over him -- and something about him has shifted. It's subtle, but the shadows seem to fall strangely on him, and there's a new hum to the air. Almost too high to hear.

Sanae reaches out, fingers hesitating over those scars. His hands hold a new edge of power. ]

Hey, the worst is over. It just gets easier from here. Now hold still for a second.

[ Joshua pauses in unwrapping his arms and looks up, visibly unimpressed with the change. After a moment, he grins and gives a soft chuckle. ]

It's really too bad I have to be this young, isn't it?

Oh, sure. A real shame.

[ He lifts an eyebrow, and that grin isn't quite fake. Hanekoma doesn't really care for the situation, but it's better than putting his hands on a Joshua who'd get something out of it.

He just presses a palm over Josh's heart, and there's a sudden surge of energy -- anything to ease the pain and speed the healing. ]

[ Joshua cringes and his whole body shudders as if he's been jolted. Then his expression relaxes, and his sigh is heavy, his voice almost unnoticeably a bit deeper. ]

You know you'd like it. [ But the teasing edge isn't entirely back yet.

Sure enough, within moments, the cuts aren't bleeding any more. ]

[ Hanekoma just grins back at him. Gentle hands move down the boy's chest, lending power and healing as they go. It's steadier, now, more constant, less of a jolt and more of a nonstop pulse. ]

That help any, Josh?

[ He closes his eyes and leans forwards a little, into the touch a bit more. ]

... Yeah.

Glad to hear it.

[ A moment more of touching before Sanae lifts his hand away, but there's still that faint new hum of power to him. ]

Want me to do your arms?

They're not as bad. [ But he's pulling off the bandages anyway. ]

Come on, this is the one time you get to take your clothes off and have me do some touching, might as well take advantage of it.

[ He laughs under his breath, sitting back to examine Josh's arms. ]
