I couldn't stop them at all. [ He's trying to hide it as much as possible, but he's much more bothered by it than he's letting on. ]

[ There's a pause as he finds the right reply to that, and he hands the soup back once Josh is done coughing. Then, honestly: ]

As far as I know, no one's ever fought back and won, Josh. This game's rigged.

... I break rigged Games, Sanae. It's...

Break rigged games, huh? On your first try, outnumbered, worlds away from the city, with your powers limited? So you lost this round. That's what was expected.

Sanae. I don't get hurt. And I don't lose.

Josh? You're a Player this time around. We both are. Players get hurt and Players can lose.

[ He sighs and rubs at the nape of his neck, looking Josh over again. ]

Clothes off, I wanna see how bad it is.

[ There's a pause, long enough to be noticeable. Then Joshua smirks as if the previous conversation never even happened. ]

I told you, Sanae, I can't enjoy it like this.

Clothes off, Josh. [ He doesn't comment on the pause, but he catches it. Better to roll with the lighter conversation, for now. ] Hey, I'd rather you were in an older body, too.

I can't guarantee results, but I can certainly try if you're finally interested. [ He starts slowly unbuttoning his shirt, and Sanae just might catch sight of the soaked bandages wrapped around his chest. ]

Don't waste the energy. [ He goes a little more serious at the sight of those bandages, running things through in his head -- what they could've done, how they subdued him in the first place -- but it's pressed behind a layer of amusement. ] On second thought, I like you better unconscious.

You prefer someone who can't resist, hmm? No wonder you seem to like this body. [ Shirt is pretty much off now, and yes, it's pretty clear where most of the blood was coming from. ]

Josh? Shut up. [ That... is a lot of blood. He does not like this. ] Anything on your legs?

[ Please say no so he can let you keep your pants on. ]

If I say yes, will you make me take my pants off?

[ No such luck, mister. ]

[ Dammit Joshua, he'd be more willing to go along with it if you weren't ten. ]

Only if you've got underwear on.

And if I don't? [ Actually, aside from more bruises and burns they left his legs mostly alone, but this is for teasing more than anything else. ]

If you don't, you get to heal everything from the waist down on your own.

A pity. I suppose I'll just hope those injuries aren't too severe. Hee hee.

Wouldn't that be a shame? [ Bluffing bluffing bluffing, though he's not really buying it, Josh. ]

I'm not staring. [ Actually he is. Staring at the wounds, of course, but still staring. ] Alright, fine, pants off. And you'd better be wearing something underneath.

[ That gets a giggle, and he slowly slides out of the pants... only to show he's wearing (oversized) underwear and has no major injuries on his legs. ]

[ Snort. Though the burns and bruises do draw his eyes, and the concern in his expression becomes just a little stronger. ] Hey, you can deal with those on your own. I might be able to do something about the big cuts, though.

Well, you don't seem to be doing anything right now. [ Don't think he's missing that look... ]

[ He is legitimately relived that Joshua has underwear on, too. DOESN'T NEED TO SEE THAT KTHX and the guy has enough blackmail on him already. ] I'm not much of a healer, but I'll give it a shot. Want me to go grab fresh bandages? Get you at least a little bit cleaned up before you pass out on me.

You might as well. I'd imagine that these are rather thoroughly ruined.
