[ Hanekoma heads up the stairs, stumbling just a little. Up the stairs, into the bedroom, and he pauses by the bed. ]

Think I can put you down, now?

If you do, will you get me something to eat? [ He wasn't exactly well-fed... ]

Sure thing. Bouillabaisse? Muffins? Coffee? [ He takes a seat on the edge of the bed, letting Josh down as carefully as he can manage. ] I've got fresh bandages, too. In the bathroom cabinet for if I ever needed 'em. Good to have supplies around.

Bouillabase sounds good. [ He carefully shifts and lays down, doing his best not to cringe at the pain. ]

Alright. Food first, and then I wanna see how bad the damage is. [ Hanekoma stands again, raking a hand through his hair and trying to ignore the feeling of wet blood on the back of his shirt. ]

Yell if you need me. [ And out the door he goes. ]

[ Oh, wow, did not expect there to be that much blood on Sanae's back. ]

[ Well, he's back a few minutes later, with a bottle of water and a bowl of bouillabase -- sits beside Josh on the bed and fakes a grin. ]

Soup's on. Need help sitting up?

Why would I? [ And with enough effort, he sits up... but it takes him a little. He gives Sanae a look, but says nothing. ]

[ Sanae shrugs as response; hey, he's not gonna call Josh out on it. He hands over the bowl and water bottle, and then picks himself up off the bed again and heads for the dresser. A non-bloody shirt would be nice. ]

You wanna talk about it, Josh?

[ Josh gives a soft huff and deliberately starts eating. Maybe he'll start talking, but not right now. ]

Hey, fine by me. There's no hurry.

[ His back to Joshua, he pulls that shirt off and goes rummaging through the dresser for a new one. Might as well lend some stuff to Josh, too, something with a few less bloodstains... ]

[ It only takes a couple spoonfuls before Josh suddenly starts coughing, nearly knocking the bowl over. Hot soup + raw throat = fun times. ]

[ Hanekoma yanks a shirt on and is at his side in an instant, snatching up that bowl before it spills. There's not a whole lot he can do, so he'll just hang out here, being concerned and generally unhelpful. ]

You wanna try something else? I've got tea.

I'm fine, I just... [ He gives another cough, and after a moment, sighs. ]

I couldn't stop them at all. [ He's trying to hide it as much as possible, but he's much more bothered by it than he's letting on. ]

[ There's a pause as he finds the right reply to that, and he hands the soup back once Josh is done coughing. Then, honestly: ]

As far as I know, no one's ever fought back and won, Josh. This game's rigged.

... I break rigged Games, Sanae. It's...

Break rigged games, huh? On your first try, outnumbered, worlds away from the city, with your powers limited? So you lost this round. That's what was expected.

Sanae. I don't get hurt. And I don't lose.

Josh? You're a Player this time around. We both are. Players get hurt and Players can lose.

[ He sighs and rubs at the nape of his neck, looking Josh over again. ]

Clothes off, I wanna see how bad it is.

[ There's a pause, long enough to be noticeable. Then Joshua smirks as if the previous conversation never even happened. ]

I told you, Sanae, I can't enjoy it like this.

Clothes off, Josh. [ He doesn't comment on the pause, but he catches it. Better to roll with the lighter conversation, for now. ] Hey, I'd rather you were in an older body, too.

I can't guarantee results, but I can certainly try if you're finally interested. [ He starts slowly unbuttoning his shirt, and Sanae just might catch sight of the soaked bandages wrapped around his chest. ]

Don't waste the energy. [ He goes a little more serious at the sight of those bandages, running things through in his head -- what they could've done, how they subdued him in the first place -- but it's pressed behind a layer of amusement. ] On second thought, I like you better unconscious.

You prefer someone who can't resist, hmm? No wonder you seem to like this body. [ Shirt is pretty much off now, and yes, it's pretty clear where most of the blood was coming from. ]

Josh? Shut up. [ That... is a lot of blood. He does not like this. ] Anything on your legs?

[ Please say no so he can let you keep your pants on. ]
